Frequently Asked Questions

Connecting ChatGPT to StackOne over MCP takes two roles. IT turns on Developer mode, then creates a connector under Settings → Connectors, pastes https://mcp.stackone.com/mcp, sets authentication to OAuth, and leaves client ID and secret empty so ChatGPT self-registers. Each employee then signs in and picks their own project, accounts, and actions. Full walkthrough in the ChatGPT setup guide.
No. The connector lives on your ChatGPT account rather than on a device, so authorizing it once in the desktop app also turns it on at chatgpt.com, and in any other browser you sign in to. There is nothing to repeat and nothing to keep in sync.
You do need a paid ChatGPT plan to use MCP connectors. Custom connectors sit behind Developer mode, which requires Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu, and there is no way to add one on the free tier. Availability moves often, so check OpenAI's connectors documentation for the current state.
You don't configure each app in StackOne yourself. IT connects the apps and sets the action ceiling for your project. ChatGPT sends you to a consent screen where you pick which of those accounts and actions to use, narrowing further if you want. Rerun the flow to change it.
Once connected, ChatGPT can run whatever actions you granted, across 520+ live connectors and 32,000+ tested actions covering CRM, HRIS, ATS, ticketing, and finance, including apps with no MCP server of their own. Each action is built and maintained by StackOne against the live API. Browse them in the MCP server directory above.
Your app credentials, the ones for Notion, Salesforce and the rest, live server-side in StackOne and never reach ChatGPT. The gateway address you paste carries no access on its own, and the client ID and secret fields stay empty because ChatGPT registers itself. Each person's token is scoped to what they picked. Revoke under Connected Apps.
Yes. IT creates the StackOne MCP connector once and it appears for everyone in the workspace, with nothing to distribute per person. Each employee signs into StackOne, picks a project, chooses their own linked accounts and actions, and authorizes. Every action runs under their own permissions.
